FSFC900 Minimum Standards (Firefighter I & II)

Course Description: 

The purpose of the Minimum Standards course is to educate, prepare, and provide an opportunity for persons with the desire to become skilled in firefighting techniques. By successfully completing all seventeen performance objectives of the program, students will be prepared to take the State of Florida Firefighter I & II examination.

This Minimum Standards certification course for firefighters is a mentally, physically, and emotionally challenging program that takes heart, focus, dedication and perseverance to achieve. This program includes extensive classroom and practical elements in conjunction with the numerous hours of self-study.

 

Registration Process:

Registration is a multistep process that will require both uploads and information to be completed online.  Please follow all directions to ensure your successful enrollment in the fire program. 

The registration process for Firefighter I & II will require you to upload documents for review and pay all registration fees to begin the application review process. 

Please download from Documents and Links within CSRIPS.org and complete the following documents.  You will be required to upload these after they are fully completed when you complete your application. Students are not considered enrolled until the Class Manager has reviewed the application and deemed it complete.  Students will be notified upon successful completion of all registration documents.

Fire Medical Examination (form DFS-K4-1022.  Please download this from the website under documents and forms).  This medical examination must be completed by a physician, surgeon, or physician’s assistant per ch. 458; or an osteopathic physician, surgeon, or physician’s assistant per ch.459; or an advanced registered nurse practitioner per ch. 464. The doctor’s signature, printed name, title, address, phone number and date of exam must be legible and needs to be signed on both pages.

Uploaded copy of United States High School Diploma, Official Transcripts or the equivalent

Uploaded copy of Florida Drivers’ License, Birth Certificate or Passport

Uploaded completed copy of Medical Examination form

Each student has an option of three (3) student packages. You must purchase one (1) to attend the Coral Springs Regional Institute of Public Safety, NO EXCEPTIONS!

Pre-Requisites:

PAT:   The PAT is required to complete this course.  The Physical Ability Test is a separate registration and is listed by class.  Please be sure to click on the correct PAT for the fire class you are registering for.  

EFFECTIVE wtih 16-04:  Your PAT fee will be collected with your registration into the Minimum Standards class.  There will no longer be a separate PAT class to register for.

EMR:  Students need to either complete the Emergency Medical Responder course or be in possession of their NREMT or state license.
